Empire-style Récamier (France, early 19th century) Elegant Empire-style chaise longue, also known as "récamier" in reference to the famous painting "Portrait of Madame Récamier" by Jacques-Louis David (1800). Structure in finely patinated fruitwood. Saber legs and scroll backrest, two characteristic elements of the Consulate Empire style. Upholstery completely redone and covered with a carefully chosen contemporary fabric to fit into a wide variety of interiors. In very good condition.
