Chest of drawers with cube decoration – marquetry of precious woods – Louis XVI period – 18th century. Exceptional chest of drawers from the Louis XVI period, adorned with remarkable marquetry of hollow cubes, made from precious woods. A refined piece, possibly French or Italian, typical of the geometric and illusionistic taste of the 18th century. The front and top feature a finely crafted trompe-l'œil decoration, highlighting the contrast of the wood types and the precision of the veneer. The original bronze fittings elegantly accentuate the simple and balanced lines of the piece. It opens with three front drawers, the middle one locking, retaining its original mechanism. The piece is in very good condition, with a beautiful patina that attests to its authenticity. A collectible item, both decorative and functional, ideal for a classic or eclectic interior.
