Old idéqqi modeled terracotta dish from grande kabylie. Mid-20th century. Kabyle women have perpetuated this ancestral art, a production common in everyday life but also represented in all the key moments of household life. This production transmitted from mother to daughter entered into a system of economic and cultural exchange where each region or tribe of kabylie had its specificity. This popular art, still too little known, is today threatened. These ancient objects were made of terracotta, therefore fragile and the traditional production is unfortunately no longer perpetuated.
