Vintage curved wooden parrot coat rack – Thonet style
This vintage wooden curved parrot coat rack features a crown of curved hooks spiralling around a central post, topped with a lovely turned finial. This model is directly in line with the coat racks popularised by the bent wood technique, notably associated with the Thonet company at the end of the 19th century. The play of curves is particularly successful: the beech hooks lightly wrap around the upper shelf, providing numerous hanging points for coats, hats, and bags. At mid-height, a circular ring serves as an umbrella stand, while the four curved legs, also made of bent wood, ensure solid stability on the ground. The uniform and warm hazelnut brown patina reflects a beautiful use over time. A timeless classic for the entrance hall and Parisian bistros. Note: one of the hooks has been cut, probably to fit into a space. The break is clean and, when turned against the wall, this flaw will remain invisible.
