Important antique coat rack made of curved beech, attributed to Thonet, probably from the late 19th century. 16 hooks and umbrella stand. A particularly elaborate model featuring many characteristics of Thonet's bentwood furniture: large curved volutes, multiple hooks, turned elements, umbrella stands, and significant bentwood legs. Several listed antique models attributed to or signed by Thonet show strong similarities in design and details with this example. However, no clearly legible THONET stamp has been found on this piece; the attribution is therefore given with caution. Beautiful dark mahogany patina with signs of use and old wear. The finish appears to have been touched up at some point in its history. Overall good condition for its age. Notable: small old loss at the end of one leg element and a small loss on one hook, visible in the photographs.
