Vintage photo 'Diapason' – organ of Eton College Chapel, prizewinner 1943

An impressive vintage art photograph titled 'Diapason': the monumental organ case of Eton College Chapel, dramatically photographed from below with light falling through the Gothic windows. The print is a gelatin silver photograph, mounted on card with black border lines and titled in ink 'Diapason' and 'Eton'. On the back is the label of the Uxbridge and District Camera Club: 'This picture has been awarded First place in the Archit. Int. Class at Uxbridge, Sep. 1943', with notes on the exhibitions of 1943 and 1944 and a (hard-to-read) signature of the photographer. Suits a classic English interior, a library or music room, and lovers of organs, architecture and vintage photography. Condition: Good, with signs of use. The photograph is clear with good contrast. A few small spots on the card below the title; one corner of the card is slightly damaged. On the back, a small piece of the top layer has been scraped away at upper left.
