K&G Lunéville plate "Rouen Clover" circa 1880-1900

Elegant, refined, and full of character, these two antique deep plates bear the hallmark of excellence from the faience factories of the East. Produced in Lunéville by the Keller & Guérin manufactory, made of ironstone, with an underglaze printed decoration, they showcase the rare and poetic design named "Rouen Trèfle", a stylised blend of Norman tradition and late 19th-century floral inspiration. The decoration consists of a delicate geometric frieze in gold-yellow and navy blue, framing stylised clovers at the centre and on the rim. The slightly crackled ivory background, typical of old ironstone, enhances the colour nuances. The edges are finely scalloped, adding an extra touch of elegance. On the reverse, a magnificent stamp adorned with clovers, featuring the inscription K & G LUNÉVILLE – ROUEN TRÈFLE, attests to a carefully crafted production from the late 19th century (circa 1890–1900). The impressed marking further reinforces this dating. These plates are perfect for a vintage dining table, charming wall decoration, or a discerning collection of French faience. Diameter 24 cm, height 2.5 cm. Good condition for their age, with micro scratches from use, patina of time; one plate has a chip underneath, while the other has a chip on the edge on the top. Please note that the decorations are slightly different, lighter on one, and there are traces of imperfections in the decoration (blue stains).
