1950s Czechoslovakian Art Deco Chrome Floor Lamp with Handmade Shade

1950s Czechoslovakian Art Deco Style Chrome Floor Lamp with Large Hand-Stitched Shade An impressive mid-century floor lamp from 1950s Czechoslovakia, featuring an elegant chrome-plated structure, a substantial circular wooden base, and an oversized, newly handcrafted stitched paper lampshade. Combining the streamlined elegance of Art Deco with the functional simplicity of mid-century modern design, this distinctive European floor lamp offers a sophisticated architectural presence. The slender chrome-plated stem rises from a substantial dark wooden circular base, supporting a generously proportioned dome-shaped shade measuring 61 cm (24.02 inches) in diameter. The newly handmade shade features warm golden-brown tones, decorative stitched panels, and carefully finished edges, creating an appealing contrast with the polished chrome structure. When illuminated, the shade diffuses light into a warm, atmospheric glow, highlighting its handcrafted texture and distinctive construction. Four light sockets arranged beneath the shade provide generous illumination, making the lamp suitable for living rooms, lounges, reading areas, hospitality interiors, and curated residential spaces. The adjustable-height chrome stem adds practical versatility while preserving the lamp’s elegant proportions. Its combination of reflective metal, dark wood, and warm-toned handmade materials creates a visually balanced composition that works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
