Pair of tin-glazed earthenware plates decorated with peacocks and bouquets, Les Islettes circa 1800-50. The plate with the bouquet is hand-shaped, turned, and stamped, while the one with the peacock is shaped in a more mechanised manner. Both show traces of footring at the base. With scalloped shapes, the bouquet has a slight movement in the mass, whereas the peacock is more rigid in its form. Tin-glazed earthenware of yellowish clay. Bouquet and peacock motifs hand-painted in the centre, slightly dreamlike, with small flowers hand-painted with a brush on the rim. Overall good condition with some chips in the glaze and slight superficial scratches, see photos. The peacock measures 24 cm in diameter and 2.5 cm in height, while the bouquet measures 23 cm in diameter and 3 cm in height.
