Pair of teak and white-grey leatherette chairs, model "t21 fire" or "pige" by danish designer kai kristiansen. Very nicely made from solid teak, trace of a label on the underside of one chair. Circa 1960. Dimensions of one chair: h of the backrest: 74 cm, of the seat: h 43 X w 49 X d 42.5 cm kai kristiansen (born in 1929) renowned danish furniture designer, born in 1929. An iconic figure in 20th-century scandinavian design, he left his mark on his era with a remarkable career. After training at the danish carpentry school, he began as a carpenter before turning to furniture design. He then founded his own design studio, where he quickly gained recognition for his innovative projects in furniture, interior design and lighting. He collaborated with major design houses such as arflex, knoll, and oluce, creating pieces that have become iconic in modern danish design. His style is distinguished by clean lines, a keen attention to functionality, and refined elegance. From chairs with flowing lines to original tables and modular shelving, his creations brilliantly combine aesthetics and utility. Although his creative peak was in the 1950s and 1960s, kai kristiansen's influence remains strong. His furniture, always sought after by collectors, demonstrates timeless design and enduring quality.
