Black wooden risers and three teak veneer book shelves with black metal hooks. When you ask someone to think of an european midcentury wall unit, most will probably think of poul cadovius and his shelving system. It is without doubt the most famous wall unit of the danish modern era. Cadovius started his own company royal system in 1945 and came up with the idea for his "royal system shelving unit" in 1948. It was this idea of building a storage solution with maximized floor space and a modular construction that made him one of the most recognized designers of danish mid-century modern design. His shelving system is still a very popular item today.
