This remarkable piece of furniture stands out for the richness and quality of its carved decoration. The façade is structured by uprights adorned with high-relief leafy motifs, framing panels with geometric decoration in diamond points. The whole is rhythmically enhanced by numerous finely carved masks, representing expressive faces placed at the corners and on the front. The middle belt opens with two richly decorated drawers, separated by a central carved mask. The upper part is crowned with an overhanging cornice, adorned with a frieze carved with scrollwork and a central motif depicting a bird with outstretched wings. The lower part, resting on ball feet, adopts the same decorative vocabulary with moulded panels and carved uprights, giving the whole a beautiful unity and strong architectural presence. Very fine sculptural work, characteristic of the historicist taste of the 19th century inspired by the French Renaissance. Period: 19th century.
