Antique Gien Iris Ironstone Soup Tureen

Antique soup tureen from the Gien pottery, Iris model, made of earthenware, with its original lid. Pretty blue monochrome decoration featuring irises and foliage, with beautiful relief handles and an intricately designed lid handle. An old piece full of charm, as lovely for decoration as it is on a table. The soup tureen measures approximately 26 cm in width including the handles and 8 cm in height, excluding the lid handle (14 cm with it). It shows a noticeable crackle, particularly visible on the inside, as well as some minor signs of age and use. A small chip is visible on the inside of the lid and under the inner rim of the soup tureen (see photos). Overall, its condition is very well preserved with a lovely antique patina. Fast and careful shipping.
