Antique sauce boat Sarreguemines bamboo shape – unlisted blue decoration – ironstone

Beautiful antique sauceboat made of ironstone from the Sarreguemines factory, in the Bamboo shape, accompanied by its stand. Very pretty blue decoration featuring flowers, foliage, and butterflies, in the spirit of some iconic decorations from Sarreguemines such as Carmen. This piece has been subject to an identification request with the Sarreguemines museum. The museum confirmed the Bamboo shape but could not precisely identify the decoration: the frieze present on this sauceboat does not appear in their collections nor among the many references consulted. The hypothesis of a rare variant, or even a trial decoration that did not continue, has been mentioned. An unusual piece and particularly decorative for enthusiasts of antique faience and Sarreguemines tableware. Overall good condition for its age. Some small signs of use and chips on the handle, visible in the photographs. No major damage. Dimensions: Stand: approximately 21 × 16 cm – height 2.5 cm. Sauceboat: length approximately 21 cm – height of the body 8 cm. Total height with the handle: approximately 12 cm. Weight of the whole: approximately 680 g.
