Napoleon III toad chair – Antique structure, floral fabric

Napoleon III style crapaud armchair with a characteristic silhouette: rounded and enveloping backrest, very low rolled armrests, wide and deep seat, all dressed in a pleated skirt concealing the legs. Under the skirt, four blackened wooden legs mounted on wheels, formerly functional — an authentic detail from the period. The structure is original Napoleon III. The fabric, likely a synthetic silk or satin with sheen, was applied during an old restoration dating from the 1960s-1970s. It features a floral print on a chocolate brown background with patterns of daisies, peonies, and small white flowers with burgundy and ochre leaves. Sold as is: visible wear and pronounced fraying on both armrests, frayed skirt hem, slight stains on the seat. The structure is sound and the shape is very decorative.
