Arne Wahl Iversen plant bench chest of drawers vintage teak Danish 60s

The plant bench designed by Arne Wahl Iversen in Denmark is an exceptional and very rare piece of furniture. The combination of an elongated planter, three drawers, and an open shelf combines decorative effect with surprisingly much function. When filled with plants, it becomes a lively centerpiece in the room, while smaller items can be neatly stored in the drawers. Particularly beautiful are the oval handles set directly into the teak wood and the finely rounded edges. The drawer body sits slightly offset between the high, rounded legs and is attached laterally with small metal connectors. This makes the elaborate construction appear open and light. Below the planter, a shelf made of individual wooden slats offers additional space for more pots or decorative objects. On the upper surface, there is a small sign of use in one place, which can be easily covered with a plant pot or decorative object if desired.
