Set of 6 black S32 / S64 chairs by Marcel Breuer for Thonet, 1977

The Hungarian designer Marcel Breuer (1902 - 1981) designed chairs S32 (without armrests) and S64 (with armrests) in 1928. Thonet started producing these chairs in 1929. Timeless chairs. The chairs feature a metal tubular frame, a wooden seat and backrest combined with woven rattan. Chair S64 has wooden armrests. All seats have new (2023) rattan. The wood shows signs of wear and use (e.g. loss of lacquer). Marked “THONET77”.
