Indonesian ikat carpet. Unavailable. Description. Indonesian artisanal ikat. This weaving comes from the island of java, 90s. Predominantly blue, the motifs are inspired by the indonesian bestiary: geese or ducks (essential to hunt snakes from rice fields), geckos, crabs, monitor lizards, monkeys. Each animal fits into a "square" of 14 X 16 cm. Impeccable condition. Small "defects" are inherent in manual weaving: irregular thickness of threads. The two ends of the top and bottom end with small braided and knotted fringes. Perfect for dressing a sofa or wall hanging.
