100% fabric carpet, handmade in morocco. When a woman finishes the knotting of her carpet, before cutting the vertical frame and removing the carpet from the craft, she tries to make the most of her already hard-installed frame. For this, she looks all around her at home and sometimes even in the neighbors of old and worn clothes. She cuts them into small pieces and knots them on her craft. Sometimes the patterns she makes are well designated but most of the time all the pieces of fabric are mixed and the designs are totally random. The carpet, therefore made with pieces of fabric and sometimes a little wool that remains of the finished carpet, is called a boucherouite. This kind of carpet is so strong that you can wash by machine or in your bathtub. It's a genre that many people use in children's rooms or in the hallways and patios of the house. Now with the trend, these rugs are designed as art items and many designers recommend that they be hung on the walls like paintings.
