A magnificent English Regency-style dining table, crafted from solid mahogany, whose understated elegance reflects the great craftsmanship of the early 19th century. Its extendable oval top reveals a striking interplay of materials: a light flamed mahogany perimeter band frames a centre of dark satin mahogany, all encircled by a fine black-ebonised moulding. Two pedestals with a turned central column in the shape of a baluster support the whole with balance, each expanding into four finely fluted saber legs, ending in superb cast brass casters adorned with acanthus leaves — a refined detail typical of the English Regency period (circa 1810-1840). A central extension of 46 cm allows for a generous increase in the dining surface to accommodate your guests. The warm patina of the wood, along with slight scratches and surface variations, testify to a long and authentic life, in keeping with the age of the piece.
