Old painting "Deer in the Woods" oil on canvas France 19th century

Oil on canvas. French school, second half of the 19th century. A wax seal on the back indicates "Atelier Gustave Courbet". The famous artist (1819-1877) repeatedly depicted woodland scenes with deer and fawns, but the painting presented here cannot be attributed to him. The work, with intense realism, depicts a doe and her fawn among a group of trees in the woods, with light filtering through the branches to create luminous effects. The painting is presented in a beautiful 18th-century lacquered and restored frame.
