Leaf-shaped with widely cut, sculptural edges, covered in a "flamed" glaze where red, orange, brown, and a few touches of yellow blend in continuous gradients, like an autumn leaf frozen in the glaze. Glossy finish and play of texture. The underside bears the stamp "Vallauris, " incised in the unglazed reserve, a trademark of the town that made this ceramic famous in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
