Walnut Louis XV commode with mirror

Traditional French toilet commode, early 20th century, by a local cabinetmaker from the south of France. Furniture made of solid walnut with rounded curves, motifs sculpted in the mass; floral scrolls, acanthus leaves, and shells. Large commode with 4 drawers and cabriole legs, 4 feet with pronounced reliefs, finished with the typical Louis XV scrollwork. The piece is upright, with rounded uprights at the front. Each drawer is equipped with 2 golden handles and a keyhole. The locks are original and functional, with 1 key provided. Top in light veined green marble, rounded corners, and a slightly scalloped front. On the marble is placed and fixed the dressing table part: 1 mirror framed by 2 small drawers. Pretty original mirror, bevelled all around, in a decorated walnut frame, finished with a scallop shell. Antique furniture, beautiful quality of materials and craftsmanship, the set treated against insects as a precaution but not affected, healthy, stable, and solid.
