Cream patinated plaster reproduction of the famous bust of a woman known as Eleonora of Aragon, attributed to Francesco Laurana (circa 1470–1480), a major figure of the Italian Renaissance. This interpretation captures the emblematic characteristics of the model preserved in the Louvre: an oval face of great purity, delicately closed eyes, a fine mouth, and a smooth headdress enveloping the skull in an almost geometric construction. The elongation of the neck and the sobriety of the volumes reflect the humanist aesthetic characteristic of Laurana. The sculpture measures approximately 33 cm in height and 30 cm in width. It is made of moulded plaster with a matte cream patina, slightly textured. The condition shows slight surface irregularities and a few discreet micro-marks related to the material and time, mainly visible at the lower part. The whole retains a beautiful visual homogeneity and a balanced sculptural presence. This is a decorative moulding from the 20th century, in the spirit of workshop reproductions or academic study.
