Rare Safari armchair model "Diana", designed by Swedish designer Karin Mobring for IKEA in 1972 and manufactured during the original period. This iconic model of 1970s Scandinavian design is distinguished by its structure made of solid Scandinavian pine. In this uncommon version, the wood was painted black by IKEA at the time of manufacture. The organically shaped armrests provide excellent comfort and contribute to the model's characteristic elegance. The seat and backrest are made of thick vegetable-tanned saddle leather. This high-quality leather has developed a pleasant patina over the decades, sought after by enthusiasts of vintage furniture and Nordic design. To restore: The armchair is sold in its original condition and requires restoration. The three seat straps are broken and need to be replaced before any use. A seam on the backrest is open and needs to be repaired. The structure also shows several missing areas and wear of the black paint, mainly at the armrests. All defects are visible in the photographs. The armchair is delivered disassembled and can be easily reassembled using an Allen key. * Designer: Karin Mobring. * Model: Safari Armchair "Diana" * Publisher: IKEA * Country of origin: Sweden. * Period: 1970s. * Style: Scandinavian design. * Materials: black-painted solid pine and leather. * Dimensions: * Height: 70 cm. * Width: 63 cm. * Depth: 60 cm. * Seat height: 35 cm.
