Art Deco walnut storage furniture, 1930s

Low storage unit, Art Deco, dating from the 1930s-1940s. The unit is made of fruitwood with a walnut finish. It includes a clean and fully functional drawer as well as a storage compartment with a removable shelf. Both elements retain their beautiful original hardware, typical of the era; the compartment door opens and closes with its original key (see photos). Drawer dimensions: L: 43 cm X D: 23 cm X H: 7.5 cm. Storage compartment dimensions: L: 50 cm X D: 30 cm X H: 58 cm. Space above the shelf: approximately 29 cm. Space below the shelf: 26 cm. The unit is in good overall original and period condition, showing some marks and signs of previous use, as well as a natural patina due to age. There is also a slight discolouration across the entire structure: top, side panels, drawer, door, interior, shelf, hardware, and legs (see photos). There are some old woodworm traces — which is normal for a piece of this age — on the right side panel (lower back part) as well as on the legs and their ends; however, the unit has been treated. It has simply been gently cleaned, oiled, and waxed, respecting its original patina. All photos were taken in natural outdoor light; colours may therefore vary depending on brightness, reflections (including those from the stone wall in the background), as well as the angles and perspective from which they are viewed.
