Superb compote dish (mid-height presentation plate) in fine Limoges porcelain, manufactured by the prestigious house of L. Bernardaud & Cie (stamped B&Co on the back). This piece, with its typical Art Deco shape (circa 1930), features the authenticity label "Limoges Unique" as well as its period commercial stamp. Its refined decoration combines a navy blue and gold geometric frieze with delicate bouquets of roses. A detail of absolute elegance: the blue and gold border motif is harmoniously repeated on the base of the foot. Ideal as a centrepiece for presenting fruits, pastries, or to enhance a retro chic table setting. In perfect condition. The porcelain is radiant, the gilding and patterns are impeccably preserved. No chips, cracks, or signs of use. A rare collector's piece in this state of freshness. Diameter 23.2 cm. Height 12.5 cm. Weight: 800g. Explanations on the stamps: B & Co / LIMOGES FRANCE (in green): This is the white trademark of Bernardaud (B & Co for Bernardaud and Company), actively used since the early 20th century. LIMOGES FRANCE UNIQUE (in green): This green stamp corresponds to the mark of the Union Porcelainière. Registered in 1929, this "Limoges Unique" label guaranteed the authenticity and quality of 100% Limoges production. TACHET / QUINCAILLERIE / THIERS (in pink): This is the commercial mark of the retailer of the time. Hardware stores and department stores in the provinces during this period often had a "Tableware" section and had luxury tableware they ordered from Limoges stamped in the name of their own shop (here, the Tachet Hardware Store located in Thiers in the Puy-de-Dôme). Thanks to the intersection of these stamps, we can precisely date the manufacture of this piece between 1929 and the 1930s/1940s.
