Very good condition, slight wear near the signature. *From an old family of Breton nobility, Mathilde de Boisboissel developed a marked artistic sensitivity from a young age that led her towards pictorial creation. Her work, primarily composed of oils on canvas, lies at the crossroads between late Fauvism and modern Post-Impressionism. It is characterised by a keen sense of colour and light. The artist favours a bold and vibrant colour palette, characterised by the use of strong contrasts, intense flat colours, and dynamic strokes applied with a generous, textured material. Fascinated by nobility and animal energy, she has made scenes of polo, horse racing, and jockeys one of her favourite subjects. She manages to capture the physical tension of the horses and the elegance of the sport with great nervousness of line.
