Buffet / Exceptional Sideboard by Jean-Claude MAHEY — Signed Piece. Elegant sideboard designed by Jean-Claude Mahey, an iconic figure in French design from the 1970s, known for his refined creations that blend lacquer, architectural lines, and precious finishes. CERTIFIED AND SIGNED EXCEPTIONAL PIECE: This piece features the artist's original handwritten signature (J.C. Mahey) directly engraved on the brass structure. A rare and valuable detail that guarantees its perfect authenticity and makes it a true collector's item. Aesthetic & Design: This model is appealing with its superb glossy lacquer finish in deep shades of chocolate brown / plum, subtly enhanced by profiles and details in gilded brass that finely highlight its minimalist design. Its aesthetic, both understated and luxurious, perfectly embodies the elegance of high-end French furniture from the 70s. Interior Layout: The sideboard offers a very functional organization with two side doors framing a central column of five drawers. The ultimate touch of refinement, the interior of the drawers is fully lined with its original bright red felt, ideal for accommodating and protecting precious dishes, linens, or valuables. Its low and elongated silhouette – mounted on wheels – fits seamlessly into a dining room, living room, or entryway, where it immediately stands out as the centerpiece of the decor. Condition: Very good overall condition for an original vintage creation from this era. Signature & Brass: Signature perfectly legible on the brass, which shows its natural patina from the period. Top Surface: Lacquer retains a beautiful shine with visible micro-scratches from use depending on the lighting (attesting to its history, possibility of repolishing). Structure & Lacquer: Very good overall condition, with a small discreet chip on one upper corner. Drawers: Original red felt in good condition.
