Painted Folk Art Bridal Chest

Primitively decorated / painted bridal chest from germany, to be precise from franconia. The chest has a very rustic appearance and shows plenty of character. This chest is in a neat condition for its age, although there are of course some light traces of use. For example, there are sporadically some old woodworm traces (especially on the inside), these have of course been treated and checked. The chest has a compartment division on the inside and offers a lot of storage space. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. These pieces of furniture were later placed on the farm in a show room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This copy dates from around 1775/1800. 78cm high, 138cm wide, 56cm deep.
