An impressive set of two BA 1171 early fiberglass chairs, designed by Helmut Bätzner for Bofinger in in then West-Germany during the early 1960s. The sculptural design chair is also stackable and was launched at the 1966 Cologne Furniture Fair. The BA 1171 was the first single-piece plastic chair suitable for mass-production, made from compression-moulded fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Both pieces are in very good original condition.
