Thonet stool - chair from the 1920s.

Very nice stool stamped thonet 20 under the seat. It was produced between 1920 and 1928 and is referenced as n° b 551. Our stool was transformed quite a long time ago: a backrest was added to it so that it could be used as an office chair. The backrest is in burgundy leatherette (a little rubbed on the right side) and fixed under the seat by a piece of curved wood too. As a result, the effect is quite successful and I did not want to remove the backrest, which provides a higher level of comfort without distorting the nature of the seat. Especially since the work was well done. Otherwise, it rests on a thick wooden leg in the middle of which there is, a priori, a screw system that allowed the seat height to be adjusted. But here it is either neutralized or completely seized up and I have not been able to make it work. As a result, it remains a fixed chair. It has been completely refurbished, which has brought out the beauty of the beech wood and the incredible work that went into this bentwood furniture. The round braces, the curved legs, everything here is incredibly fluid. A beautiful chair, both classic (a thonet) and original. Diameter at the legs: 50 cm. Diameter of the seat: 38 cm. Height at the back: 88 cm. Height of the seat: 59 cm.
