Dresser

Antique 19th century two-body dresser or sideboard in pitch pine, solid wood, a resinous wood with a yellow background veined with reddish brown. Harder than fir, pinus ponderosa comes from North America. It has a Louis-Philippe spirit, however its cornice betrays the Napoleon III era and as history tells it, the use of pitch pine wood was introduced into France in 1868, therefore after the Louis-Philippe style. We took care to carefully check the functioning of the furniture and sanded it completely to restore its beautiful raw wood patina. The doors lock, there are 3 shelves which make 5 large storage spaces. It can be used as originally as a dresser in a large kitchen thanks to the bottom of the deep cabinet which can contain pots, or take over one of its former functions as a library as preferred by a notary with whom it had taken up residence for a few years. Dimensions in cm: h 210 l 120 d bottom 70 and d high 35, door thickness 25 mm. Note that the piece of furniture separates into 2 parts. The doors and shelves can be dismantled for transport.
