Maurice Pitot was a Belgian ceramicist born in 1926 in Châtelineau and passed away in 2010. He belongs to the tradition of Bouffioulx stoneware, an important centre for pottery and artistic ceramics in Wallonia. Active mainly from the 1950s to the 1970s, he created vases, bowls, and decorative objects in glazed stoneware, identifiable by their flowing glazes in blue, green, brown, or black tones. His work is part of the revival of Belgian artistic stoneware after the war, inheriting the artisanal traditions of Bouffioulx.
