Unique cherry-wood table from Italy 60/70'

1 A finely crafted cherry-wood table from the 1960s–1970s, measuring 120 × 74 cm, with a 16-part sunburst tabletop. 2 Sixteen inlaid iconographic motifs—not zodiac signs—adorn the top, while 32 chess pieces encircle the underside. 3 Beyond its refined craftsmanship, the piece invites a symbolic reading, with each motif suggesting a hidden message. 4 Together, these elements evoke the metaphor: “Life is a game of chess where the stars write the rules.”.
