Superb pair of rare and elegant chrome wall lights by the famous Swedish designer Hans-Agne Jakobsson. This pair of wall lights is easily found in brass but is very rare in chrome and so elegant! Shaped like a fir tree, there are five arms each supporting a lamp. Original manufacturer sticker on the back. In good working order, wired to European and international standards, 120V and 250V also with LED disabled. No glass shades. Hans-Agne Jakobsson (1919-2009) was born on the island of Gotland, Sweden, he was one of the most important Swedish designers. He studied architecture in Gothenburg and apprenticed as a carpenter. His first job was as an industrial designer at General Motors, then as an assistant to Carl Malmsten, the Swedish furniture designer. In 1950, he designed his first lightning pendants: a pendant with pine slats to soften the direct light from a shop window, this model was very successful. Jakobsson began producing this model and in 1951, he founded his own company: Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB. In more than 50 years of activity, he has created more than 2000 models of lighting fixtures in wood, copper, brass, fringed fabrics, brass and glass. His designs are timeless pieces highly sought after by collectors around the world.
