Old painting, orientalist school, signed Sheriff, early XX century

Very pretty and rare watercolor on paper signed lower right chérif. Artist belonging to the turkish orientalist school of the early XX century. Here it is represented the interior of the famous blue mosque, mosque of sultan ahmet in turkey. There are a number of faithful praying. The finesse and meticulousness of execution as well as the color rendering make it a magnificent picture. The artist himself has often represented this mosque seen from the outside in other paintings. This painting has an old pitchpin frame. Condition: the frame has some small shocks without any gravity, and the watercolor is in very good condition laid on a beige background. On the back there is an etic of the lyon framer, as well as an inscription indicating istanbul, ahmed's mosque or blue mosque. Size: watercolor l 14 cm X h 20 cm.
