Original oil painting titled "Inner Courtyard of the Pasha's Mosque in Oran." The Hassan Pasha Mosque was built in 1796. The French painter used warm colours to convey the sacred atmosphere of the place. The architecture of the mosque's inner courtyard, shaped like a crescent, includes columns and exposed beams. A man is depicted in traditional attire. Canvas stretched and nailed onto a wooden frame. Sold unframed. The painting was created in 1948. Condition is fair, with worn canvas showing transparency that causes cracks (see photos). Artist's signature at the bottom of the painting. Pencil inscriptions on the back of the frame: 1948, Oran, inner courtyard of the Pasha's mosque. Wooden frame with a piece of label containing the word "Rive." Dimensions: 33 cm x 24 cm, thickness 1.3 cm. Total weight without packaging: 216 g.
