A sugar bowl from the 1920s, made of brass covered with a layer of silver, originating from Poland and representing the Art Nouveau style. The proportions of the vessel are harmonious – a wide, stable base gently tapers upwards, transitioning into a cylindrical body. On the smooth, matte surface, a raised floral motif, probably a poppy, stands out, with details made in relief technique. Two symmetrically placed, smoothly curved handles and a round lid with a spherical, compact handle complete the whole. The construction is solid, with visible joints at the handle attachments. The colour scheme is kept in a cool, silvery shade with a slight patina and traces of tarnish, especially on the lid. The condition is good — there are minor scratches and slight discolourations and signs of use, typical for an authentic item from the era, without major damage. The form of the sugar bowl evokes the spirit of the early interwar years — times when Art Nouveau inspirations still permeated everyday objects. The flowing lines of the handles and the organic floral ornament seem to tell a story of longing for nature and subtle elegance. The silver-plated surface, with a slight patina, gently reflects light, evoking images of intimate gatherings at the table and slow, morning conversations. In this sugar bowl, you can hear echoes of past decades — as if every detail had its own anecdote from the salons of old Poland. The sugar bowl will fit well on a classically set table, among porcelain cups and platters, as well as in eclectic arrangements with a vintage touch. It can be combined with a crystal decanter, silver-plated spoons or a ceramic cake stand, creating a small, collector's display on a console or sideboard. It will bring a distinctive accent to an Art Nouveau interior, but will also work as a subtle addition to a modern, minimalist space, where its sculptural form and historical pedigree will become a focal point.
