Elegant jug in majolica dating from the early 20th century, from the Art Nouveau period, manufactured by the Onnaing factory. This charming piece in glazed earthenware is captivating with its naturalistic relief decoration depicting a bird perched on flowering branches, in a typically Art Nouveau spirit. The body of the jug features a beautiful soft green vertical decoration reminiscent of bamboo, while the handle imitates a finely carved wooden branch. The interior is covered with a lovely deep burgundy glaze, providing a nice contrast to the exterior hues. The underside bears the number “56” inscribed under the base. Very decorative, this jug can be used as a vase or simply displayed in a kitchen, a conservatory, or a collector's interior. It will add a poetic and authentic touch to a chic country, bohemian, or Art Nouveau decor. Beautiful old patina and charming network of usage cracks typical of ceramics from this era. A piece full of charm and character.
