The Cone Chair marks a milestone in design history, and its creator, Verner Panton, is a true legend! A unique example of this iconic cone-shaped chair is now available at VcommeVintage! In 1958, Verner Panton's father entrusted him with the renovation of his restaurant "Kon Igen" ("Come Back" in Danish). He had complete creative freedom. Here, he wrote a chapter in design and interior decoration, a total art of living. He reimagined the entire space and its components: furniture, textiles, server uniforms, menus, lighting... Using geometric shapes and only five shades of red, he shaped this new venue, which would attract crowds, art critics, and the design world. Verner Panton thus created the Cone Chair for this occasion, in the shape of an inverted cone. It rests on the tip of the cone, securely fixed to a star-shaped base with four branches in chrome metal. The entire chair is well-padded and very comfortable. It was quickly mass-produced by the Danish company Plus-linje, founded for this purpose in 1959. Our chair is an original edition from this period, with the original fabric. It is in very good condition, with the fabric slightly worn in places. It remains very comfortable, and its red is vibrant. Seat height: 47 cm. Total height: 80 cm. Width: 62 cm. Depth: 62 cm. It is still produced by Vitra, starting at €2260.
