Set of seven handmade ceramic deep plates, probably from the second half of the 20th century. Low, rounded shape, pale grey shiny glaze with slight speckling, rim highlighted by a fine brown line revealing the natural colour of the clay. The unglazed underside at the foot shows traces of turning and confirms artisanal production. The speckled glaze, simple shapes, and noticeable variations from one piece to another are part of the revival of utilitarian ceramics and table stoneware that developed from the 1960s-1970s. Their raw and rustic appearance, manufacturing irregularities, and beautiful material effects give them an almost brutalist aesthetic, particularly current on a table paired with natural linen, wood, or more contemporary tableware. In the absence of a signature or identifiable marking, no precise provenance can be attributed to this set. Dimensions: diameter 18.5 cm; height 5 cm. Total weight: 2 kg. Generally in good condition, with slight variations in shape, colour, and glaze due to their artisanal production. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
