This extraordinary accent lamp with a dragon shade has been upcycled from a striking ceramic vase by Scheurich from the 1960s/70s. The "Fat Lava" vase is emblematic of the experimental studio ceramics of the time: plastic relief textures, earthy glaze gradients, and a powerful form language. The square shape of the base with a defined neck gives the lamp a sculptural presence, making it an expressive design object. This vase shape became very popular from the 1960s onwards and was referred to as a "fireplace vase" because the neck resembles a chimney. Vase dimensions: Height of approximately 25 cm. Total height with shade of approximately 52 cm. Shade 30 X 30 cm. The wide shade (30 cm in diameter) is dressed in high-quality Japanese cotton fabric. The traditional dragon pattern on a dark background combines Eastern symbolism with a modern interior style. Dragons are a popular motif in Japanese mythology, representing strength, energy, and protection. The warm light creates a special atmosphere in the space: the structure of the fabric remains visible, while the dragon pattern is subtly highlighted. The shade is handmade by Roomlight Studio. The transformation into a lamp is done entirely while preserving the object: No drilling. No irreversible interventions. The original collector's value is preserved. Classic black E27 socket. Operates via a transparent cable up to 120 volts. Toggle switch on the cable. The socket is anchored by an internal fastening system with a cap and clip. The base has also been weighted for better stability. The opening is sealed with a high-quality brass plate, with the threaded rod coated in brass.
