Bohème large crystal vase with red overlay, wheel-cut, Belle Époque.

Large overlay crystal vase (double) in red, with an elongated baluster shape featuring a strongly constricted neck topped with a flat flared lip. Height 31 cm, width 15 cm, depth 12 cm, weight 4 kg. The decoration, entirely wheel-cut, consists of a large central oval medallion housing a sun motif with multiple rays, framed by diamonds adorned with finely engraved geometric stars. The neck is rhythmically decorated with a frieze of Gothic arches alternating with vertical flutes, while the lip is highlighted by a row of cut gadroons. The overlay crystal technique — a colourless layer covered by a cranberry red layer — creates a characteristic two-tone effect: where the cutting passes through the coloured layer, the colourless crystal appears in transparency, enhancing the decorative richness of the whole. Bohemian or French production, typical of the Belle Époque or the early decades of the 20th century. Excellent condition, with no visible chips or cracks. A beautiful decorative piece of character.
