Stilnovo ceiling lamp model 1245, Italy late 1950s. Nickel-plated and enameled aluminum, triplex opal glass. Original label and parts. Excellent condition. Three elements, three appearances. A black enameled canopy fixes to the ceiling (or it can be recessed). A brushed nickel-plated band, set with three knurled thumbscrews, holds the diffuser. An opal triplex glass cylinder completes the volume; its layered glass spreads the light evenly and conceals the bulb. Nothing is decorative and nothing is missing. The proportions give it presence: a compact, closed cylinder that suits a hallway, a bathroom or a kitchen as well as a contemporary interior. It can also be wall-mounted, though its projection makes it most effective as a ceiling light. This example is original in every component and in excellent vintage condition. Inside the metal band, the yellow Stilnovo Milano Italy label is still in place. This is the version used before the company adopted its red label in the 1960s, and a reliable indicator of this early production.
