Extraordinary modular Stropiccio sofa by Luciano Frigerio, a true rarity of 1970s Italian design, published in Domus in 1975, perfectly embodying the visionary and sculptural spirit of Luciano Frigerio. Composed of five large modular armchairs, entirely upholstered in original aqua-green suede of exceptional quality, the sofa captivates not only through the elegance of its materials but above all through its ability to create a true sculptural wave. By joining the five elements, the seating line transforms into a fluid and continuous movement, a soft and scenographic wave that flows through space with lightness and strong personality. The satin-finished brass bases, shaped to follow the undulating profile, add a precious and luminous accent, further enhancing the interplay of forms. The modular system also allows the individual elements to be separated, creating independent lounge chairs, each with its own sculptural presence; however, it is in the wave composition that this sofa fully reveals its charm and uniqueness: a true statement piece capable of defining an entire interior on its own, ideal for contemporary living spaces, scenographic environments and high-end interiors. The generous seat, enveloping cushions and the softness of the suede provide outstanding comfort, while the iconic silhouette published in Domus in 1975 elevates this model to a true collector’s item, extremely difficult to find today in such original condition. Excellent vintage condition, with minimal signs of use consistent with age. Original suede upholstery intact and supple, brass bases perfectly preserved.
