Blue and green submerged vide poche, Flavio Poli, Murano

Large blue dish with a green lining, technique known as sommerso, "submerged" in Italian. Popularised by Flavio Poli in the 1950s/60s, this technique involves blowing several halos of coloured glass into one another. This dish is particularly striking; its shape and dimensions make it a remarkable sculpture. It is in very good condition, with no chips but a few minimal signs of wear (see photos). Height: 8cm.
