Superb bisque bison in glazed earthenware from the Zsolnay factory in Pécs, Hungary, vintage 1940s-1950s. An iconic model from the Hungarian factory, unsigned but well documented and still produced by Zsolnay in its eosin glaze version. This piece features an elegant, shiny turquoise glaze with deep hues, rarer than the traditional petrol green or eosin versions. Length 23 cm, maximum height 15.5 cm, maximum width approximately 7 cm. Overall good condition. Notable are three hairline cracks, possibly superficial and limited to the glaze: one at the neck and cheek, as well as one on each flank, with the one on the same side as the neck crack being lighter. These defects do not affect the structure of the earthenware and remain relatively discreet visually. Weighs approximately 500-600g.
