Splendid walnut corner cabinet from the early 19th century. A magnificent patina.
Superb presence and magnificent patina for this walnut corner cabinet in Louis XV style from the early 19th century. Quite tall and featuring a beautiful curve, it opens with two curved doors revealing two original fixed shelves. These have been recently covered with fabric, as has the back of the piece, giving the interior a rather cosy appearance. The left door closes with a hook, while the right door locks with a functional added lock. There is a stamp on one of the beautiful cast iron hinges, but it remains difficult to decipher: Agenes Rott... something. In any case, it is well made, with very dense wood and a luminous patina rich in history. It was custom-made for a residence, and the right depth is a few centimetres greater than that of the left. The triangular back of the piece is made of solid wood, and you can still see the saw marks from the cabinetmakers who worked on it. The top is also solid, original, and in superb condition. These very prestigious pieces always make a striking impression in a room, whether it be an entrance, a living room, or a bedroom. They are also quite practical for occupying a corner of a room. There are signs of usual wear, but overall it is in good condition. L: 87 cm. D: 61 cm. H: 113 cm. Left depth: 58 cm. Right depth: 65 cm. My prices are firm, thank you.
