Superb piece of professional furniture. This is a 19th century cherrywood chest of drawers that was professionally transformed into a 10-drawer chest of drawers. The combination of styles and periods is very successful and highly original. Furniture with double closures is always playful and pleasant. The chest of drawers itself rests on beautiful, curved legs and offers a top in excellent condition. The patina is particularly intense and highlights the gilded fretwork as well as the beautiful keyholes. The lock itself has been replaced with an antique brass two-point lock (the transformation dates back to the first half of the 20th century). The two doors open onto 10 numbered drawers with a very attractive, lighter-colored solid wood front (which creates a beautiful visual effect with the chest of drawers). Each drawer has a large, marine-style brass pull handle. For a time, the drawers were used to store silverware (cutlery). They were therefore upholstered with a dark green velvet-type fabric with a beautiful effect. It was damaged in a few places when the parts intended to accommodate the cutlery were removed, but it remains clean and very aesthetic. Note that the two large drawers at the bottom do not have velvet. Some old and treated insect marks (no risk) give all their charm to the doors. Note that you have to slightly push the left door upwards by half a centimeter for optimal closing (a small play without major impact). Otherwise, very stable, very solid, the piece of furniture is in superb condition. H: 108 cm. W: 95 cm. D: 48 cm. Small drawers: 32 X 35 X 11 cm. Large drawers: 32 X 35 X 20 cm.
